THE GIRL With the Dragon Tattoo is based on a book by Stieg Larsson, but the adaptation ensures that it is not necessary to read Larsson’s story first to understand what is going on. It is quite long, but the Swedish murder mystery leaves audiences guessing throughout, and the gradual unravelling of the 40 year old crime makes it difficult to become bored.

4/5 starsImages_-_Kick_Ass

Unconventional superhero movie Kick Ass sees geeky teenager Dave Lizewski  who, despite possessing no superpowers, decides to become a masked hero. It’s slow at first but once the action starts that is easily forgotten. Exciting, clever and funny; for the most part it’s an excellent watch.
